COLLAGRAPHS

From the French word "collage". The matrix {plate} made from mat board, chip board or any flat material holds the glued down pieces of paper, lace, textural material, most any interesting items. The plate is then covered with a protective coat of acrylic medium. The plate is printed on an etching press.
Look carefully and you will see on my collagraph; lace, cut to shape pieces of mat board, ribbon, string and even a plastic turkey covering.

Print was done with oil based ink with the addition of a watercolor collage {girl}, and a torn piece of sheet music.

Escape 4"x4" Cream, BFK Rives paper I used a frayed piece of Oriental paper, and string on top of the cream colored paper.
